What is my primary motivation for learning these 46 languages?

A lot of people asked how many languages I know. It is difficult for me to answer that question without knowing what it means to know the language. Everyone has a different standard of knowing a language. If I only know how to read in that language, does it mean I know the language? I have learned many languages and writing systems separately. No wonder there are languages I can speak and writing systems I can read. The following list will show you my motivation for learning them in one sentence each. I use the first 18 languages daily, either actively or passively. So, I arrange them in the sequence of fluency, I put the rest of the languages, more or less, in the sequence based on the time I learned them actively. Medan Hokkien: My native language, which I speak proudly. Indonesian: It is the official language of my country. English: I was partly English-educated in high school and fully English-educated at university. Chinese: It is a lingua franca for all Chinese-ethnic in the worl

With Indonesia having the fourth-largest population globally, knowing the Indonesian language allows you to talk with more than 275 million people living in Indonesia and an estimated 8 million Indonesian diaspora living in over 120 countries. You can also speak Indonesian with Malay speakers from Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei Darussalam because Malay is the foundation of the Indonesian language.

Rapa Nui and Indonesian Languages

I stumbled upon an interesting post about a language when I was using Facebook. It is the Rapa Nui language from Easter Island located in the Polynesia inside the territory of Chile. This language surprised me because it resembles one of my native languages, Indonesian. Although both countries where these two languages are spoken are separated extremely far away, I notice similarities that are interesting to share.

I also lose motivation several times when I learn languages. After several days, I usually continue studying the language again. It is really important to maintain the motivation. Here are some strategies to stay motivated when learning a new language: Set achievable goals: Break down your learning into smaller, manageable steps. Celebrate your progress along the way to stay motivated. Find a language buddy: Practicing with a native speaker or someone at your level can make learning more fun and engaging. Immerse yourself in the language: Watch movies, listen to music, or read books in your target language. This will help you get used to the sounds and rhythm of the language. Don't be afraid to make mistakes: Mistakes are a natural part of the learning process. Don't let them discourage you. Reward yourself: Treat yourself to something you enjoy after reaching a goal. This is how I remember the Braille alphabet

Trying to remember the Braille dots is like trying to remember mathematics formulas. Dots are fit into a 3x2 shape, making everything look similar. The difference is just one or two dots and the position of the dots. It would help if you had creative techniques to memorize them. Firstly, you must divide it into 3 groups: A-J, K-T, and U-Z. This is because the second and third groups derive from the first group. Each letter from the first group is paired with the dot on the left bottom to make each letter from the second group. Each letter from the first group is paired with two dots at the bottom to make each letter from the third group. An exception is for W, which has only one dot on the right bottom.
