Trying to remember the Braille dots is like trying to remember mathematics formulas. Dots are fit into a 3x2 shape, making everything look similar. The difference is just one or two dots and the position of the dots. It would help if you had creative techniques to memorize them.
Firstly, you must divide it into 3 groups: A-J, K-T, and U-Z. This is because the second and third groups derive from the first group. Each letter from the first group is paired with the dot on the left bottom to make each letter from the second group. Each letter from the first group is paired with two dots at the bottom to make each letter from the third group. An exception is for W, which has only one dot on the right bottom.
I memorize some of the alphabets using tricks and some without tricks. Dots for D look like the top right shape of the letter D. Dots for F look like the top left shape of the letter F. Dots for G are special because they make a square shape. Dots for H look like the top left shape of the letter H. Dots for J look like the bottom part of the letter J. And I memorize A, B, and C without special tricks because they are quite easy, dots for E look like the inverted shape of the dots for I. Both E and I combine making a V shape.
I use objects or names to help me remember the connection between the first group and the second and the third group.
First and Second Group
A-K: the world's most popular rifle AK-47
B-L: the color blue
C-M: centimeter
D-N: it sounds like the Javanese word "dhewe" meaning "oneself"
E-O: the name code for the Esperanto language
F-P: an Indonesian hardline Islamist organization FPI
G-Q: an international monthly men's magazine from New York City
H-R: abbreviation of my high school teacher's name
I-S: an Islamist extremist organisation ISIS
J-T: the jet plane
First and Third Group
A-U: abbreviation of Australia
B-V: the place named Beverly Hills
J-W: abbreviation of the Jehovah's Witness
C-X: it sounds like "sex"
D-Y: it looks like the abbreviation of an Indonesian ethnic "dayak"
E-Z: a travel agency in Taiwan "ezTravel"
You can be creative to make a similar memorization technique. You don't need to follow my technique completely because I incorporate the knowledge of other languages that I know into my technique. You can think about something that makes you remember the letter pairs easier.
